The Adult Education Department in Karlstad conducts activities within Swedish for Immigrants (SFI), Komvux as adapted education, theoretical courses at basic and upper secondary levels, as well as vocational, apprenticeship, and combined education, and Higher Vocational Education.

In adult education, we work to develop our students' knowledge and skills to strengthen their position in working and social life, as well as to promote their personal development.

We are now looking for a licensed teacher who wants to work as a coordinator with us. In this position, you will play a key role in developing coordination and planning of our vocational training with a focus on both the needs of students and the labor market. This is a fixed-term position until 2026 aimed at building a sustainable structure for how we work with our various vocational training programs within our own management.

Responsibilities

As an education coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and developing the various vocational training programs of the organization. You will be a key person in the dialogue between school, industry, and society. The tasks are varied and include both strategic and operational work with a strong focus on ensuring the educational perspective in all parts of the process.

Your main responsibilities:

• Coordination and planning for the startup of new and existing training programs.
• Collaboration with administration, admissions, study and career counselors, communicators, and educational staff.
• Outreach activities related to the startup of training programs.
• Dialogue with the industry before, during, and after training.
• Summon and coordinate the various vocational councils of the organization.
• Mentor support: provide support and guidance to colleagues.
• Follow-up during and after training.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a qualified teacher (requirement), preferably with experience in vocational education.
• Has a good ability to coordinate and create structure.
• Is communicative and enjoys building relationships.
• Has an interest in labor market issues and industry collaboration.
• Has the ability to always put pedagogy at the center.
• Experience in project-based work is an advantage.
